Finding Purpose

Do you ever wonder, why am I here? What is my God-given purpose? Well, i'm here to tell you that you are not the only one that has pondered on these questions. Every person on this earth that has breath has a purpose for the Kingdom of God. How do we tap into that purpose? We pray and ask God to reveal our purpose to us. After you pray, then you practice patience because God does not work on our time. You may not get your answer for months or years at a time but you must have faith that God heard your prayers and is working in your favor.

I once struggled with these questions. It was around the 2014-2015 time frame, I was working for the local police department performing secretary work. This question started weighing on me heavy, I started to feel like I was wasting precious time just coming to work answering phones all day. I have a servant heart, I love to help people, while I was ultimately helping people at my job it just didn't feel like enough. So instead of me praying and waiting to get an answer from God, I took matters into my own hands. I applied to be a Deputy Sheriff, went to take the test and failed. My heart was so broken, I just knew being a Deputy Sheriff was my calling because I could help people in so many different ways. God blocked that. Then I decided to go to school to become a Registered Nurse. For different reasons, I could not go back to school. Again, I was heartbroken. I just knew God called me to be a nurse because I would be able to serve and pray with people. God blocked that. After those 2 unnecessary heartbreaks, I decided to just wait on God (Which I should have done all the time). So often we try to take matters into our own hands, trust and believe God does not need our help. Psalms 46:10 KJV tells us, “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”

In my time of waiting, God revealed to me that I have many purposes. One is to be the best mother I can be to my daughter, who is a precious gift from God. Like I mentioned earlier, God does not work on our time, so it was years before I started to see more and more of what God was doing in my life. During this time period, I had to go through some things to reach my full potential. The journey was not easy but it was worth it. In 2017, I married the love of my life. I discovered then that God called me to be a wife. In 2018, we had our first child together. God called me to be a mother, again. Now, in 2019, was the birth of our family business, ARTNHVN,LLC! All these things definitely give me purpose and bring me so much joy. But I could ONLY get that joy from God! I truly believe that if I did not live my life the way God wanted me to, I would not have all these blessings He has given me/us. God is good and worthy to be praised!
